FMC Corporation is one of the world’s foremost, diversified chemical companies with leading positions in agricultural, industrial and consumer markets. Today, we use an array of advanced technologies in research and development to improve the delivery of medications, enhance foods and beverages, power batteries, protect crop yields structures and lawns and advance the manufacture of glass, ceramics, plastics, pulp and paper, textiles and other products.

FMC’s Lithium Chemicals Division manufacturing site is located in Bromborough, UK. Products produced on site  include N Butyl Lithium, Lithium Chloride, Lithium Metal and Sodium Hypochlorite. The processes are certified to ISO 9001 standard. Finished materials are distributed globally from the site.

In addition to our Bromborough  activities, we have historically used several European warehouses for the storage and distribution of packaged products, the majority of which have been manufactured at FMC Lithium production facilities based in the USA. Three independent  warehouses have been used based in Amsterdam, Sweden and Germany. During 2006, a review of our European warehousing and distribution services was undertaken, the objective being to consolidate all European warehousing and distribution services with one centrally located service provider, and  to reduce logistics costs whilst improving service levels to our European customer base.

Several potential partners where identified and following visits and evaluations, Store-Ship where selected as FMC’s preferred partner. The transition to Store-Ship commenced in 2007. FMC’s warehouses in Sweden and Amsterdam are now closed and the German facility is due to be closed by the end of September.
